Dr. Michael Twyman is Emeritus Professor in the Department of typography & graphic Communication at the University of Reading and has written extensively on the history of printing, lithography and ephemera. He is the author of John Soulby, printer, Ulverston (1966), Printing 1770-1970 (1970, reprinted 1998), The British Library guide to printing: history and techniques (1998), Lithography 1800-1850 (1970), Early lithographed books (1990), Early lithographed music (1996), L’imprimerie: histoire et techniques (2007), Images en couleur: Godefroy Engelmann, Charles Hullmandel et les débuts de la chromolithographie (2007). He has also edited The encyclopedia of ephemera, the uncompleted work of the late Maurice Rickards (2000).

Professeur émérite au Département de la typographie et de la communication graphique de l'Université de Reading (R.-U.), auteur de nombreux ouvrages sur l'histoire de l'imprimerie, de la lithographie et du graphisme au XIXe siècle.
